For years, I had a front-row seat to the incredible grit and brilliance of eCommerce founders. I saw entrepreneurs with world-class products and fiercely loyal customers build businesses from the ground up, often hitting impressive 7-figure revenues. But I also saw a troubling pattern.
Behind the scenes of that top-line growth, many were trapped.
They were successful, yet perpetually stressed. They were growing, but cash flow was a constant battle. They were masters of their craft: marketing, product development, community building but were often navigating the complex worlds of finance, operations, and strategic planning in the dark.
They were building jobs for themselves, not assets. The dream of a life-changing exit felt abstract, impossibly distant, or like something they’d figure out “later.”
The advice they received was fragmented. A great marketing agency would scale their ads, but no one was connecting it to inventory forecasting. A fractional CFO would clean up the books, but they wouldn’t help craft the brand story that a buyer would actually fall in love with. Each piece of the puzzle was being handled in a silo, and no one was looking at the whole picture.
I knew there had to be a better way. Founders didn’t need another isolated service; they needed a unified system. A roadmap that connects the “why” of their brand to the “how” of their operations and the “what” of their ultimate exit.
It wasn’t born in a boardroom. It was forged from countless conversations with burnt-out founders, messy P&Ls, and the missed opportunities I saw time and again. It’s a methodology designed to bring order to the chaos and transform a good business into a truly valuable, exit-ready asset.
But as fulfilling as it is to help entrepreneurs build valuable companies, my most important role is that of a father to my two kids. The lessons I share with founders about creating freedom and building a legacy are the same principles I strive to live by every day.
More than anything, I want to be a conscious leader and teacher for my family. My own journey of growth and learning fuels my desire to positively and meaningfully impact the lives of those around me, starting at home.
Ultimately, the SYMTRY framework isn’t just about financial metrics. It’s about building a life by design; one that allows for presence with your family, a positive impact on your community, and the freedom to be the leader, partner, and parent you truly want to be.
That, for me, is the ultimate exit.
